LOVE JOURNAL: V+W’s DOWNTOWN HALIFAX WEDDING

One thing I’ve learned about weddings is that they rarely go according to plan. Veronica and Will's was no exception: a last-minute venue change, a secret civil ceremony, and enough plot twists to make a movie. None of it mattered, the day was so perfectly them it felt fated.

Even nature was on board, gifting us the gentlest fall day, with bursts of sunshine, calm air, and everything just right. The morning’s energy was giddy as the couple got ready in their suites at The Prince George Hotel before we headed to Province House for their first look.

The way Veronica and Will reacted to seeing each other reminded me of how lucky I am to be able to witness such confident love and call it my work. Seeing two people choose each other never ceases to move me. With only fifteen minutes left for portraits, historic architecture at Province House and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia set the scene perfectly.

The ceremony was a surprise reveal. The couple had actually been married for almost a year. The room was completely undone. Laughing, crying, cheering, sometimes all at once. I almost didn't know where to point my camera, keyword: almost.

The reception was what everyone came for, busy with family and friends who traveled from near and far. The speeches landed and the dance floor was busy from the jump, which should be no surprise to anyone who's taken one of Veronica's barre classes. Leaving my last wedding of the summer 2025 season was even harder than usual and I found myself already anticipating the love stories 2026 will undoubtedly bring as I packed my bags.
