ADVENTURE JOURNAL - JAMAICA
In the week prior to my departure for Jamaica the question “are you excited for your trip?” was basically all anyone wanted to ask me and without fail my answer was a noncommittal “yeah, I guess”. On paper I knew I should be excited: excited to get away from winter, excited to meet new people, excited about my first destination wedding (a goal I had set for myself at the start of the year) but for reasons that can’t easily be put into words I just couldn’t get as stoked as people seemed to want me to be. Somewhere around 35000 feet in the air those feelings of ambivalence evaporated when I looked out the airplane window to see the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean sea meeting the rolling green hills and sandy beaches of Montego Bay.
From the second I stepped out of the airport doors into the heat of the setting Jamaican sun I was in love. Not surprisingly, the week went by too quickly. Between a couple of days of hard work and a lot of days of pina coladas my memories aren’t as clear as the waters I was swimming in but that’s exactly what photos are for and luckily for me I took a lot of them, these are just a few of my favourites.
